Chris Palmore, known as The Gratitude Junkie, is a best-selling author, gratitude conductor, coach, and keynote speaker. His notable works include The Mechanics of Gratitude and The Little Book of Grief, Grace, and Gratitude. He has also compiled anthologies such as Dear 2020: Letters to a Year That Changed Everything and Dear Gratitude: An Anthology. Beyond writing, Chris founded the nonprofit GratitudeSpace Inc., publishes the journal Gratitude Journey, and hosts GratitudeSpace Radio.
Chris’s journey into gratitude began on his 35th birthday, inspired by a moment on The Adam Carolla Show. Reflecting on Adam’s disdain for participation trophies, Chris saw birthday presents as unearned rewards. This realization led him to write a heartfelt letter to his mom, thanking her for her love and sacrifices and committing to express his gratitude more often. Tragically, his mother passed away from breast cancer just four months later, deepening his understanding of life’s fragility and the power of gratitude.
Determined to honor her memory, Chris wrote a similar letter to his dad the following year, reaffirming his commitment to gratitude. Inspired by these experiences, he founded GratitudeSpace, a community dedicated to sharing the joy of gratitude. With a reach of over 10 million people today, GratitudeSpace continues to spread Chris’s belief in the transformative power of a simple “thank you.”
