About Pavel Durov

Born on October 10, 1984, in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg, Russia), Durov exhibited an early interest in programming and innovation. His education includes a degree in philology from Saint Petersburg State University, where he graduated in 2006. Durov co-founded VKontakte (VK), a social networking platform, in 2006. VK quickly became the most popular social network in Russia and Eastern Europe. In 2014, he shifted focus to privacy-oriented communication and launched Telegram Messenger, which is known for its emphasis on encryption and user security. Telegram has grown to over 700 million active users globally, cementing Durov's reputation as a pioneer in the tech industry.
