The Next Chapter is CORE Foundation's audience engagement and measurement framework, designed to understand what happens after someone experiences a documentary, conversation, podcast, educational program, or CORE Impact Story.
Working together with CORE+, it creates an ongoing cycle of storytelling, learning, engagement, and insight.
CORE+ provides opportunities for audiences to continue their journey through educational experiences, curated learning pathways, additional films, discussions, events, and interactive content.
The Next Chapter helps CORE and its partners understand how that journey develops by observing audience response, continued engagement, learning, participation, and other meaningful indicators.
Explores what audiences noticed, understood, remembered, questioned, or became interested in learning more about after experiencing a story.
Examines how audiences continue exploring a subject through additional content, educational experiences, screenings, events, conversations, and related activities.
Looks at the depth of continued participation, including discussion, sharing, learning activities, collaboration, and interaction with related content.
Brings together selected indicators that help CORE and its partners better understand evidence of learning, participation, relationship building, professional interest, and other relevant outcomes associated with a project.
Every project is different. The Next Chapter incorporates measures appropriate to the goals and circumstances of each initiative.
For example, a climate innovation project may examine increased understanding of a technology, professional interest, collaboration opportunities, participation in related activities, or other indicators relevant to the project's objectives.
An educational initiative may focus on learning outcomes, continued participation, and classroom engagement. A conservation initiative may emphasize public awareness, community involvement, and partnership development.
Together, CORE+ and The Next Chapter create a continuing cycle of: Story → Engagement → Learning → Insight
Each story opens the door to continued exploration. Each educational experience creates new opportunities to learn. Each interaction helps improve future programs and deepen understanding.
The Next Chapter is not intended to suggest that a film or educational experience alone causes long-term behavioral or systemic change. Rather, it provides a thoughtful and credible framework for understanding how audiences respond to stories, continue learning, engage with ideas, participate in related opportunities, and contribute to a broader understanding of the subjects being explored.
