New Thinking Allowed
Robert Bosnak explains that psychologists, such as Carl G. Jung and James Hillman (and himself), are interested in alchemy because it provides many useful metaphors for human transformation. He points to the history of alchemy as instrumental in our understanding of science and medicine. He discusses such concepts as the philosopher's stone, the alchemical marriage, and purification. He expresses curiosity with regard to seemingly credible reports of transmutation of lead into gold.
