A week before her 50th birthday, Kate was diagnosed with breast cancer. Overwhelmed by fear and a belief that the best years of her life were over, Kate and her husband Dave sought expert support from gynecologist, Dr Magdalena Kohlik and ESCA Cancer Care who highlighted the health benefits of regular exercise. MovementWise Mentor, Tania Cotton guided her on a journey to cycle 160km (100m) from Olympic Park to Buckingham in England, even though Kate had never ridden a road bike before. Overcoming her fear of failure put Kate back in control of her own health and performance destiny and showed her that if she took care of her body, the best years of her life could be about to begin!
