John Kluge Jr. is a philanthropist and activist with a strong commitment to global issues that impact billions. He is the founder and managing director of the Refugee Investment Network, an intermediary organization focused on mobilizing impact investment to address forced migration. He also co-founded Toilet Hackers, a social enterprise aimed at improving sanitation access for the 2.5 billion people who lack proper toilet facilities. Beyond his direct activism, Kluge co-authored Charity & Philanthropy for Dummies and authored John Kluge: Stories, sharing his experiences in business and philanthropy.

Kluge holds a B.A. from Columbia University and an MBA from Babson College's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. These educational foundations, combined with his extensive career in social entrepreneurship, have helped him leverage business principles to create lasting, positive impact in some of the world’s most underserved regions. He serves on the board of several influential organizations, including the Fonderie 47 Foundation, which works to reduce the impact of small arms and light weapons, and the New Hill Development Corporation, which focuses on economic development and environmental sustainability. He is also a member of the Human Rights Commission of Charlottesville.
