Democratizing Conservation Through Geocoded Nature

Uon.Earth

Uon.Earth is a collaborative initiative between the Union of Nature Foundation and EarthToday, designed to empower individuals and organizations to contribute directly to global conservation efforts. The mission of Uon.Earth is to protect 30% of the planet by 2030. Through the EarthToday platform, users can protect natural habitats by purchasing "uon" tokens, each representing a geocoded square meter of protected nature. This innovative approach democratizes conservation, allowing anyone, anywhere, to actively participate in preserving our planet's natural heritage. For every uon you collect, we bring a new m² of nature under protection. The protection is the responsibility of participating nature protection organizations (NPOs), which protect, rewild, or restore nature areas, while empowering local and indigenous communities. Each uon represents a geocoded unit of nature registered in the user's name, with €1.00 of every €1.20 directly supporting nature protection organizations that rewild, restore, and conserve ecosystems.

How it Works

  • Affordable Conservation: For just €1.20, users can protect one square meter of nature.
  • Digital Proof of Protection: Each purchase grants a "uon," a unique digital certificate confirming the protection of a specific area, registered in the user's name.
  • Transparency and Engagement: Users can virtually visit their protected areas, learn about ongoing conservation efforts, and track the impact of their contributions.
  • Support for Local Communities: The platform partners with nature protection organizations that not only conserve ecosystems but also empower local and Indigenous communities.
  • Commitment to Global Goals: Uon.Earth aligns with the global objectives to protect 30% of the planet by 2030 and 50% by 2050, aiming to safeguard biodiversity and combat climate change.
