Mercado Global was founded by two extraordinary women, Ruth Álvarez-DeGolia and Benita Singh, with a vision to empower indigenous Mayan women in Guatemala to break the cycle of poverty and become leaders in their communities. Today, Mercado Global has grown into a global fashion brand, available across major department stores, and has achieved remarkable milestones through collaborations with brands like Levi’s.
