Polisi's academic journey is marked by a strong foundation in both the arts and law. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Additionally, he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree from Yale University, where he also studied the bassoon, showcasing his dual passion for education and music. Beyond his presidency at Juilliard, Polisi has held key roles in arts advocacy and leadership. He has written extensively on the intersection of art, culture, and society, including his books The Artist as Citizen and American Muse: The Life and Times of William Schuman.
